New bus route for our area

From 9th September the Knocklyon area is to have a regular bus service, Route 175, that will connect Knocklyon with UCD, Luas Green Line, Dundrum Town Centre, Marley Park, Pearce Brothers Park, Oldbawn, IT Tallaght, Tallaght Hospital, Luas Red Line, The Square Tallaght, City West.

This is a welcome development for our area and should be viewed as a result from the lobbying that many residents of our area took part in over the last number of years for improved transport links.

Bus Connects. If you have not attended one of these information displays there will be one at Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on Friday 7th of September from 2-8 pm.
We recommend everyone to attend as the proposed changes will effect how we get around Dublin by Public Transport for the future. As part of the proposal the existing 15B route is scheduled to be changed to the number 16 which will take the same route up to Terenure and then will travel through Harolds Cross into the city.

Dear Knocklyon Network

We are a group of residents, businesses and friends of the Dublin Mountains. We have been affected greatly by the on-going closure of a section of Edmondstown Road. More than anything we are concerned about the health and safety of all users of the road and surrounding roads which have been adversely affected by the closure.

For these reasons we are holding a protest march on Saturday 30th June 12:00hrs in Ballyboden (see itinerary attached as well as protest information flyer). Our aim is to highlight to South Dublin County Council our frustration at the delays in getting the road repaired and to impress on them our wish for SDCC to initiate repairs on the road now.

This message is to advise you and your members of the time, place and route of the protest and to invite anyone who has been affected, has concerns and/or is willing to support our event.
